Steps to Take Before Cancelling

Before canceling services with SAP, take your time to make all the necessary backups and ensure you have everything in order, such as files, money on cards, and e-mail.

You can pause a subscription and interrupt the billing process for recurring charges without canceling the subscription, either indefinitely or for a defined period, by setting a resume date.

What Happens to Your Account When You Close It

When an account is closed before its normal expiration, a new version is created with a new billing date determined by the new expiration date. The initial charges are reversed and discarded from the original account. If no items remain on the original account, they will no longer show in the Accounts application.

Specify the reason for the cancellation. Note that you can reverse the cancellation of a subscription and reset the original expiration date.

Calculate the possible cancellation date according to the subscription terms and billing period. You can enter today or any date in the past as long as the resulting expiration date was more than two years ago.

Set the cancellation notice date.

Cancel the terms of the subscription when you cancel the subscription. The relevant subscription terms are as follows:

  • Minimum term period
  • Renewal period
  • Notice period
  • Revocation period
  • Allow expiration in the middle of the billing cycle.

Generally, a subscription is canceled as a provider when subscribers do not pay their bills. But, by canceling the defined terms, you can terminate the subscription immediately. However, to cancel subscription terms in the Subscriptions application, you need the ui_subscription-cancellation_overrule-terms role and the basic cancellation role.
