In this guide we’ll walk you through the steps of how to cancel your QuickBooks subscription.
When it comes to accounting software, Quickbooks is the most widely used globally. This software allows the tracking of unified finances of any company, organizing information through lists and records of any accounting movement in real-time.
QuickBooks offers three monthly payment options for its customers:
When QuickBooks cannot process the payment, the account is suspended, and you will receive an email stating that your subscription has been suspended. You will log in to QuickBooks Online in view-only mode. You can read all of your company information but will not be able to add or edit data. Similarly, you can reactivate the account once you have updated your payment details.
On the other hand, you no longer have an account with Quickbooks when you cancel your subscription. However, your data will be saved for one year, allowing you to come back and reactivate the service.
QuickBooks is the most widely used accounting software globally, which facilitates a unified tracking of any company’s finances, secures the accounting work, and makes it more efficient.
This software organizes accounting information using lists and real-time records of any accounting movement. Quickbooks allows the user to know exactly the current state of their finances and to track in detail any income or expense that happens in their company. This visibility enables small, medium, and large companies to make strategic decisions in real-time and continuously improve.
The steps to cancel QuickBooks Online depend on where you signed up for your subscription. If you signed up through a mobile app store, you would need to go to the app store to cancel.
You will need to understand the difference between suspending payments and canceling services. If you cancel your subscription, you might still get billed. Therefore, it’s best to ensure you don’t have any recurring payments or canceled payments before canceling the subscription.
QuickBooks will retain your data for trial and paid subscriptions for one year. That allows you to continue with your current data if you decide to return. After one year, Quickbooks will delete the data. During that year, the account will be in read-only mode, allowing you to review, export, and print data, but you will not be able to make changes to the ledgers. When you log in to the company selection page, you will be able to view the expired files under Canceled Companies.
Open a web browser on your computer, not on a mobile device.
Log in to QuickBooks Online.
Select Settings and then Account and Settings.
This action will take you to the Company tab.
If you have multiple companies make sure you are in the right company.
Go to the Billing and Subscription tab in the left selection bar.
Note: If you do not see the Billing and Subscription tab, you purchased QuickBooks through a mobile app store. See the steps for your device below.
A box will appear with your plan information and a menu; select Cancel Subscription.
In the QuickBooks section, select Cancel Subscription or Cancel Online. If you want to cancel a trial, choose Cancel Trial.
Follow the steps on the screen.
