Since the emergence of the Internet, many companies have provided optimization and security services for websites. Among these companies is Cloudflare, which has approximately 25 million internet properties.

Cloudflare was born to overcome the difficulties of accessibility, allowing fast, secure and reliable access to sites, applications, and blogs of users who hire their services.

To enjoy its functionalities, you can create an account and access the administrative options for access and billing. Please note that payments with Cloudflare can be suspended at any time and cancel your services.

This guide will walk you through the steps to cancel your subscription to Cloudflare services.

About Cloudflare

Cloudflare is one of the world’s largest networks operating on the Internet, where users employ its solutions to increase the security and performance of all its users’ websites and services.

Its goal has been to give accessibility to users, which is achieved by using a solid perimeter network that provides content and other services to quickly and securely access websites, applications, and blogs.

The solutions offered by Cloudflare, among other things, protect Internet properties from malicious activities such as malicious bots, the famous DDoS attacks, and other intrusions.

Steps to Take Before Cancelling

Before canceling your Cloudflare account, we suggest you contact Cloudflare Support to resolve any issues generally fixed by changing the account settings.

In addition, you will need to back up your stored data and information, as canceling your account deletes all personal information.

So, before canceling your Cloudflare account, perform the following steps for each domain associated with your account:

  • Cancel the Cloudflare add-on services subscription.
  • Delete the domain from Cloudflare
  • Delete the Cloudflare name servers at the domain registrar.
  • Uncheck the automatic renewal checkbox for domains at the registrar

What Happens to Your Account When You Close It

Closing your Cloudflare account will delete your personal information within one year of the deletion request. Unless they need to keep your data due to legal obligations, such as in cases of pending litigation, or ongoing abuse investigations, it will all be deleted.
