In this guide we’ll walk you through the steps of how to cancel your Amazon Web Services (AWS) subscription.
If you’re an Amazon Web Services (AWS) user, you may not know how to cancel your Amazon Web Services subscription. This guide walks you through the steps to understand how to do it and how the monthly billing cycle is done.
Amazon Web Services is a form of cloud computing that allows its customers to have storage, computing resources, mobile applications, and databases. AWS is a customer relationship management solution that links companies with customers, where users can hire any of these resources without the need to invest in infrastructure.
It is an integrated CRM platform that gives all your departments – including marketing, sales, commerce, and service – a single, shared view of each customer. AWS has the broadest cloud infrastructure, being a leading provider for more than 15 years, offering high redundancy and low latency and maturity, experience, reliability, security, and performance.
With AWS, you can get:
Before canceling an AWS account, take into consideration:
Before you cancel your Amazon AWS subscription, double-check for any outstanding bills and possible overdue payments.
When you close your account, after 90 days, you will no longer be able to use it for any AWS activity, except to log in as a root user, so you can view past invoices or contact AWS Support.
Before the period described above, upon account closure, you will be able to:
Keep in mind that closing your account does not automatically mean that your payments will stop, as you may still get billed for any active services you still have. If you need to cancel your amazon AWS account, make sure to stop your payments as well.
Note: You have 90 days after your account is closed to log in, contact support, or submit a case to AWS. After that time, Amazon will permanently delete any remaining content in your account and any AWS services not already terminated.
Step 1 / 6
Log in as your account root user in the AWS Management Console using the link AWS Website
In the navigation bar, select the account name, then “My Account”.
Scroll down to the Close Account section, read and understand the terms of closing your account.
Select all the checkboxes, and click the Close Account button. You will be prompted to confirm the same option.
Once you have completed the above steps, AWS will send a request to the support center for the cancelation of your AWS account.
Once the Close Account request is submitted, Amazon Web Services will send a confirmation email to finalize the cancelation.
You are done! Amazon will cancel your subscription in the next billing cycle.
